Two minutes after my husband and I saw that Obama had won the election I was on-line buying my NoBama t-shirt and button.  I was pissed.  My first thought was to lash out in every way that the Liberals had done during the past 8 years.  I wanted a blog that would unveil every wrong doing, every promise broken by Obama and Biden.

The next day reality set in and I knew that I couldn’t do that.  I realized that we as Conservatives should rise above and unite.  2012 seems so far away but we need to start preparing for it now.  I am still looking for ways to get involved, I hope this is a start. I am not a writer by any stretch of the imagination but I hope that what I feel in my heart will be relayed here to share with everyone.

I share your frustration and I agree with your way of dealing your disappointment.

For starter, we need to define what conservatism is all about.

Originally, conservatives represents a “way of life” not an ideology. A way of life that follows natural laws and their evolution as we learn more about our environment and society.

Can we tell that everyone of us understand what we want and fight for as conservatives? I am stating this because a significant number of original conservatives voted for Obama.

Our conservative leaders and even our own principles might have committed grave mistakes that alienate our party from some of its bases. We lost because the supposed conservative leaders have failed us in the last 4 years. Failed means:

    1. Failure to do what is right.
    2. Failure to explain that what is being done is “right”.

I think that Bush’s main failings are in item 2. Once we learn to accept why we lost the last election, then we can move on to a better horizon and vision for our people and for our country.

Edward Burke, John C. Calhoun, and Kirk are greatest American Thinkers and strong defenders of Conservatism in their time.

Now, conservatism has lost its intellectual luster. Why? We need our original intellectuals and thinkers…not elitist but still thinkers and scholar in their viewpoints and approaches.

That’s what we lack. That’s why the youth has left our party. We have allowed the MSM to paint us as “brain-dead” and boring. What left in our great universities are failed socialist ideas of the east. Bush never gave a single cent to youth conservative movements in the schools. Our conservative young thinkers have been suffering from maltreatment and injustice of the liberal university and school administrators. They are the most unfunded and maligned groups in the campuses and they suffer so much because we have forgotten them.

Let’s recover from own loss. Let’s be American Thinkers again… the real conservatives. Let us support the base… let’s rebuild the youth sector of our party. This is the priority in my viewpoint because these young people are naturally the army of conservatism, especially in the cities where Obama and the Democrats won with very significant margin.
